"It's beauty lies in it's simplicity
- a software program which prompts computer users to take a break."

| How
to Purchase blink! Demo
version of blink! |
Important Note:
blink! works with ANY program running on your computer.
We recommend though that blink! be disabled BEFORE playing GRAPHIC
intensive games.
Why?... Games these days are designed to work on their OWN, with nothing
else running.
blink! works SO well in fact that ALL games are interupted, even those
games that are designed to have FULL control of your computer!

blink! - ergonomically
friendly software. Computer
break reminder.
blink! - ergonomically friendly software - is a computer software
program specifically designed in accordance with Occupational Health
and Safety recommendations to remind computer users to take regular
work breaks. blink! will help resolve the problem of poor computer
usage practices. This should, in the process, go some way to alleviating
Occupational Overuse Syndrome, and also for businesses in reducing
lost work days and consequently workers' compensation claims. blink!
designed for Windows 95, 98 & NT4, runs in the background, hidden
from the user, and uses minimal RAM and resources. After a pre-determined
work period, blink! will activate and display a countdown to the
end of the recommended break period. The Setup Menu allows the user
to select an appropriate work/break duration.(The "Demonstration
Mode" is preset to a 30 second work period followed by a 60 second
break, to quickly demonstrate the functionality of blink!)
The user may also toggle ON/OFF the following components: Break
Start Sound, Break End Sound, Always on Top, Menu Sounds, Show/hide
blink! on startup. Selecting Always on Top (default) ensures blink!
is displayed on top of other applications whenever a break commences.
Selecting show/hide Main Menu on startup will show/hide the blink!
Main Menu whenever the computer is started. Selecting Hide (default)
enables blink! to start when the computer starts without requiring
user input.
blink! settings can be changed during a work period, by selecting
Activate blink! from the blink! folder in the Start Menu. Any or
all of the user defined settings can then be altered.
All features are enabled in the demonstration
version of blink! but it will expire 14 days after installation.
The full version can be purchased
online and retails for US$14.95.
Purple Patch can also custom make your own retailable version upon
request, or supply site licenses at a reduced price. |
Announcing
an exciting new retail opportunity for your business...
Following numerous discussions with optometrists, physiotherapists,
occupational therapists and occupational health and safety officers
it has become evident they routinely ask patients and employees to
detail their daily computer usage patterns and if they remember to
take regular work breaks for their health and well-being. The
overwhelming response is NO! This represents a significant
sales opportunity and now your business can take maximum advantage
of it.

Introducing blink! ergonomically friendly software. blink! is a
computer software program specifically designed in accordance with
National Occupational Health and Safety Commission
recommendations to remind computer users to take regular work breaks.

blink! will help resolve the problem of poor computer usage practices
by Australian management and employees. This should, in the process,
go some way to alleviating Occupational Overuse Syndrome and reducing
lost work days and consequently workers' compensation claims.

The National Occupational Health
and Safety Commission suggests:
"It is desirable for keyboard users to spend part
of the working day on alternative duties away from the screen
and keyboard…If there are no suitable alternative work activities,
work pauses must be provided." [NOHSC:3005(1996)] |
|
In addition, State Authorities are
more specific. For instance,
with respect to RSI guidelines for workplace supervisors:
Ensure operators take work breaks of 10 minutes in each
hour or 5 minutes in each 30 minutes or 2-3 minutes in every
15-20 minutes. Do not let operators accumulate work breaks.
[Safety Bulletin 24 - RSI, Workplace Standards Authority,
Tasmania] |
| At present, blink! is awaiting endorsement by the Australian
Physiotherapy Association and OT
Australia whilst the Optometrists
Association Australia, presently having a policy of not
endorsing products, has this to say about blink!: |
| "…our association encourages people to take regular
rest breaks while using computers, and [blink!]
appears to be a useful method of ensuring this." |

A
Customised Version For your business…
Your business can now have a customised version of blink! for retail
sale throughout all your stores. This product will operate in the
same manner as the demonstration included here but Purple Patch will
include background images, logos and packaging that gives the product
a a unique appearance of your business. It can then sit alongside
other branded products with your business name already available.
|
The
Bottom Line…
The benefits are twofold. Firstly, a unique opportunity to profit
from a brand new product that has already shown considerable consumer
demand. Secondly, the fact that the software, when activated, will
remind the user of your own brand. This could be as often as once
every 15 minutes! There is no better means to profit from your own
promotional material. The wholesale price will be around $7.50, with
a recommended retail price of around $14.95. This depends entirely
upon quantities ordered and packaging requirements.
|
| The bottom line is if your business does not take advantage of these
sales, your opposition undoubtedly will. |
